In the past, newspapers employed music critics who attended concerts and wrote reviews for publication the following day. In the early years of the Burnside Symphony Orchestra, critics from Adelaide papers The Advertiser and The News reviewed many of the orchestra’s performances. In addition to this, The Advertiser frequently published articles by music academic and critic Dr Enid Robertson to inform the public about the music that was to be played in an upcoming concert.

Below is a list of articles about and reviews of the Burnside Symphony Orchestra published in The Advertiser and The News between 1957 and 1973.
